FAQ

  1. Driver’s license and credit card; names must match
  2. Northwoods will ALWAYS pay the damage deposit. 
  3. If everything is clear and good to go with the machine (no damage to the machine), deposits will be released that day, and no further action is needed. 
  4. Reservations should be made through our website or Polaris Adventures. If, for some reason, you need or want to make payment arrangements another way, please contact us.
  1. Riders must be 21+ to rent the units.
  2. Riders must be 18+ to drive the units, with a 21+ individual responsible for the machine.
  3. Riders must be able to place their feet on the floor and back against the seat. Kids and friends are able to ride. Roughly 46” in height.
  4. A waiver must be signed and completed before arrival or riding. 
  5. You are 100% liable for any damages caused by drivers who haven’t completed a waiver, and if caught, automatic termination of the remainder of the ride will be implemented.

  1. Please download Polaris Ride Command or OnX Off-Road apps for trails within the area. We allow riders to go within 100 miles of our facility. 
  2. If trailered outside of this range, we will need to be notified of what trails you are expecting to ride.

  1. Yes, we are able to deliver rentals to a location of your choosing upon inquiry. We will require an extra fee based on the mileage and time traveled from our facility in Moose Lake, MN. Don’t hesitate to ask us about any location!
  2. Renters are not able to trailer the units themselves. It violates policy, and if caught, immediate termination of contract without refund and cost will be associated with repossessing the vehicle.
  1. Helmets are required and provided by us to you. No need to bring those unless you have your own that you would like to use and must be DOT DOT-approved MX or full-face helmets; nothing else is allowed. You can bring your own goggles as well.
  2. You should bring clothing for the weather and that can get dirty, with a change of clothes for when you get back.
  3. Gloves, neck gaiters, any item that you feel necessary to cover your body from the elements. We will have these for purchase at our store as well.
  4. Coolers for nonalcoholic beverages, snacks, etc. We also will have these items available for purchase within our store.
  5. An overnight bag that you don’t mind getting dirty if you plan on doing an overnight trip.
  1. Northwoods Recreational Rentals requires a damage waiver plan for Snowmobiles, $500 for premium plans and $1000 for basic plans, and UTVs, $1500 for premium and $3000 for basic plans. Damage Protection, regardless of which protection plan, is not insurance and only covers accidental damage to the rental unit. If damage is determined to be caused by a direct or indirect violation of the Rental Agreement, the renter will be held responsible and will be required to reimburse the Dealership for all loss of or damage to the vehicle. The protection plan, whether it be the standard plan or the Premium Protection Plan, determines the maximum out-of-pocket cost the customer will be held responsible for should accidental damage occur. The customer will not be charged above their maximum out-of-pocket cost for any incident-related costs, including, without limitation, repairs, parts, labor, vehicle recovery, loss of use, and administrative fees.
  2. The deposit will be held till the damage and costs are assessed.
  3. If you roll/tip the vehicle:
    • Call 911 if medical help is needed. Then call us immediately. We will upright the vehicle, assess damage and safety concerns, and then help you return to the shop. Refer to 7a for the remainder of the standard industry procedure.
  4. Flat tires and Drive belts are damages that the renter is financially responsible for.
  1. Cancellations made 8 days prior to the reservation date will receive a full refund or credit.
  2. Cancellations made within 2-7 days will be charged a one-time NON-Refundable administration fee of $100.00 plus tax.
  3. Cancellations made within 48hrs will be charged 50% of the rental cost per unit.
  4. Rentals are active regardless of rain or shine.
  5. No-Shows will be charged the full price of the rental.
  6. We reserve the right to cancel, if needed, due to circumstances outside of our control. These situations can include trail conditions or damaged rental machines but are not limited to those.
  7. There will be a $25 fee for every 15 minutes the rental is returned late.
  8. We request reservations 72 hours in advance but a minimum of 24 hours before arrival. We strive to ensure our machines are in exceptional condition when you arrive. If you were booking with less than 24 hours’ notice, we would ask that you call in advance to book manually.
  1. We do offer Private Tours and Group Tours. We can offer these with prior timely notice. We also offer Event Specials, whether it’s a birthday celebration, first-time ride, or bachelor/bachelorette party, we have you covered! 
  2. We will our tours on our website for Holidays, Fall Leave Color Rides, etc., so check our website often!

  1. Helmets not returned will be charged a $300 fee to the credit card on file.
  1. Upon return of the rental unit, we will fill the gas tank after your rental. A fee will be applied to your card at time of checkout for this. 
  2. Upon return of the rental unit, we will assess the cleanliness of the vehicle. We charge a 6.5% fee upon checkout for equipment use and cleaning fees. 
  1. You must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license to operate a rental machine.
  2. You must be 21 years of age or older to rent a snowmobile or UTV.
  3. Hours of Operation are:
    • Full Day 8:00 am-4:30 pm
    • ½ Day 8:00 am-12:00 pm or 12:30 pm-4:30 pm
    • We encourage multi-day rentals but do ask that you provide us with the location where the unit will be stored each evening.
      • If the rider is out past 9:00 pm-5:00 am and the unit breaks down, they must remain with the unit till someone is able to assist them, which is not guaranteed. We strongly discourage night riding.
  4. Helmets are provided with each rental.
  5. All drivers and passengers must be present when renting machines in order to sign the waivers.
  6. Customers may not transport the units themselves in any way to any location, based on Polaris and insurance agreements. Don’t hesitate to ask us to do it for you!
